The Staincliffe Hotel situated on the seafront at Seaton Carew, Hartlepool, inhabits a 20 ensuite-bedroom, pre-Victorian property and employs 25 staff.

When it went into administration on the 28 April 2009, Chris Stevens and Ian Vickers, Partners at FRP Advisory LLP, were appointed as Joint Administrators.

The Joint Administrators developed a strategy for sale, whilst keeping the Staincliffe Hotel open for trading. They also appointed Christie + Co to find a buyer. An offer for the property was subsequently accepted from a local businessman for an undisclosed sum.

No redundancies were made and the future of the business was saved.
