Business as usual at Options Utility Services Ltd as it enters administration
17 October 2011
FRP Advisory appointed Joint Administrators to Maidenhead based civil engineering firm
Options Utility Services Ltd, an independent civil engineering contract company, entered administration on 13th October 2011 with the appointment of Phil Armstrong and Geoff Rowley, partners at specialist recovery, restructuring and insolvency firm FRP Advisory LLP, as Joint Administrators.
The company, whose clients include major utility and infrastructure providers, employs approximately 60 permanent staff from its headquarters in Maidenhead, along with 100+ subcontractors around the south east of England. The business continues to trade as normal and no redundancies have been made.
Commenting on the case, Joint Administrator Phil Armstrong said: "Options Utility Services was fundamentally a successful business with a great client portfolio. However its margins have been so squeezed as a result of rising material and fuel costs, it has suffered financially. We are continuing to trade the company as normal, while we seek a suitable buyer for the business.
"Given its sound reputation and long-standing major client base, we have already received a number of expressions of interest and we are confident that a purchaser can be found."
