Business as usual for Lexden Wood Golf Centre, as FRP Advisory appointed administrators

Lexden Wood Golf Centre in Colchester, Essex, is welcoming golfers and patrons as usual, despite its operating company, Golf GB (Colchester) Limited, entering into administration.

Darren Wilson and Phil Armstrong, partners at FRP Advisory LLP, the specialist restructuring, recovery and insolvency firm, were appointed Joint Administrators on 23 May 2011 to Golf GB (Colchester) Limited, trading as Lexden Wood Golf Centre.

The golf centre in Colchester, Essex, which includes an 18 hole golf course and driving range, restaurant and event facilities, was placed into administration following financial difficulties resulting from tough trading conditions and a very poor winter.

The Joint Administrators are continuing to operate the golf centre as normal, and have no plans to close it or to make any redundancies. They are also conducting an extensive marketing campaign for the sale of the business.

Commenting on the case, Darren said: "Trading is on-going and the golf club, restaurant and events team are continuing to welcome patrons as usual. Meanwhile, we are hopeful of finding a purchaser in the near future, to protect the business and its employees."
