FRP Advisory, Barclays and MAB Solicitors complete Trailwalker 2011 in aid of charity

Trailwalker 2011, which took place from 16-17 July, saw 520 teams tackle the physically and mentally demanding walk across the South Downs, covering 100km within 30 hours to raise as much money as possible for Oxfam and The Gurkha Welfare Trust.

FRP Advisory LLP, Barclays and MAB Solicitors joined forces to take on the gruelling Challenge, successfully completing the walk within the cut off time.

Team 1 - comprising Dominic Roberts (FRP Advisory), Pete Tomset (Barclays), Martyn Bucknall (Barclays) and James Armour (Barclays), crossed the line at 24 hours, 1 minute;

Team 2 – comprising Philip Watkins (FRP Advisory), Carolyn Jones (MAB Solicitors) and James John (Barclays), completed the Challenge in 29 hours, 15 minutes.

The walkers were looked after by a reliable support crew, comprising Susan Moor and Graham Holton, both of FRP Advisory, and Neil Lennox of Barclays.

Commenting on the Challenge, Philip Watkins said: "We are all absolutely delighted to have completed the Challenge and we are very grateful to everyone who so generously supported us. We are still hoping to achieve our fundraising goal of £5,000, so it's not too late to support us in our efforts to raise money for these two very worthy causes.

"Thank you to all involved – it was a very tough Challenge, but worth it … and we even look forward to doing it again next year!"
