FRP Advisory completes sale of two Winnie Care homes in Wath Upon Dearne

Sandygate Care Home and Beeches Care Home, both in Wath Upon Dearne, Rotherham, were successfully sold to Methodist Homes on 23 May 2011.

Winnie Care (Highgrove Limited), the operating company for the care homes, entered into administration on 30 September 2010. Chris Stevens and Ian Vickers, partners at FRP Advisory LLP, the restructuring, recovery and insolvency specialists, were appointed Joint Administrators.

Sandygate and Beeches are home to 75 residents and have a combined staff of 88, all of whom will be invited to transfer to the new company. With the support of residents, staff and key suppliers, Sandygate and Beeches operated normally throughout the Administration period with the assistance of Wright Care Home Solutions, whilst the Administrators sought a purchaser for the businesses as a going concern.

Commenting on the sale, Chris Stevens said: "We are delighted to have secured the future of Sandygate and Beeches Care Homes, and wish the new owners well. The homes' residents can now be assured of continuity of care by an experienced, nationwide provider."

The Administrators also confirmed that they hope to secure the future of the third care home within the Winnie Care (Highgrove Limited) group, Highgrove Care Home in Mexborough. Chris commented: "Discussions with an interested party are at an advanced stage and that I hope that an exchange of contracts will be secured shortly, with a sale to follow thereafter."
