FRP Advisory secures future of South Yorkshire care home, saving 82 jobs
1 June 2011
FRP Advisory has secured the sale of Highgrove Care Home in Mexborough, South Yorkshire, to Ladhar Healthcare LLP on 31 May 2011.
Winnie Care (Highgrove Limited), the operating company for Highgrove Care Home, entered into administration on 30 September 2010. Chris Stevens and Ian Vickers, partners at FRP Advisory LLP, the restructuring, recovery and insolvency specialists, were appointed Joint Administrators.
Highgrove Care Home is home to 54 residents and has a staff of 82, who will be invited to transfer to the new company.
The sale represents the third Winnie Care home to have been rescued from administration by FRP Advisory this fortnight. Sandygate Care Home and The Beeches Care Home, both in Wath Upon Dearne, Rotherham, were successfully sold as going concerns to Methodist Homes on 23 May 2011.
With the support of residents, staff and key suppliers and the assistance of Wright Care Home Solutions, all three care homes operated without disruption throughout the Administration process, whilst the Administrators sought purchasers for the businesses.
Commenting on the sale of Highgrove, Chris Stevens said: “This is excellent news for the Mexborough community, as well as the residents and staff at Highgrove Care Home. We are delighted that residents can look forward to receiving a continued high level of care and support from the home’s new owners.”
