FRP Advisory secures the sale of Peter Werth and Pink Soda to JD Sports

JD Sports, the leading trainer and sports fashion retailer, has purchased the major assets of Brand Acquisitions Limited and its subsidiaries (all in administration), including the menswear brand Peter Werth and womenswear brand Pink Soda, for an undisclosed sum. Brand Acquisitions Limited entered administration on 13 May 2011 with the appointment of Joint Administrators Jason Baker and Geoff Rowley, partners at FRP Advisory LLP, the specialist restructuring, recovery and insolvency firm.

Commenting on the sale, Jason Baker said: “The strength of fashion brands Peter Werth and Pink Soda attracted a high level of interest in the business. JD Sports represented the best outcome for creditors, as well as the business and its stakeholders. The sale saves 68 jobs in Peter Werth concessions across the UK.”

Peter Cowgill, Executive Chairman of JD Sports, said “We are delighted to have saved another iconic British fashion brand from extinction, following on from the Fenchurch and Duffer of St George acquisitions.’’
