"While the UK and regional economy are now out of recession, economic forecasts remain cautious. There is still a lack of consumer confidence; so, much of the growth will need to be led by the private sector, driven by capital investment. Given the strong manufacturing base in the Midlands, the availability of funding for such investment will be crucial.
"Interest rates are forecast to remain low, despite increasing inflationary pressures. HMRC appears to be losing patience with Time to Pay arrangements, and it is likely that 2011 will see the rise in business failures that was expected to happen in 2010."
