Firm bolsters its Manchester team with the appointment of new Director

We have bolstered our Manchester team with the appointment of Director Simon Raine.

Simon, an established banker with 35 years’ experience, joins us from Handelsbanken. During his 17 years with the Swedish bank he was responsible for developing the Bank’s corporate and private banking business across the North West and Scotland. His last six years were spent as a member of the Northern management team, where he supported 12 North West branches, assisted with recruitment and sat on the Credit Committee.

In his new role, Simon will work closely with our Corporate Finance, Debt Advisory and Restructuring teams as they continue to support businesses across the region. He will be responsible for identifying and executing opportunities across the North West and this will include helping business owners and management teams to implement their growth plans.

His appointment further strengthens our senior team and reinforces our commitment to businesses across the North West. It also follows a significant period of growth for us in the North West, which has increased headcount across all service lines over the last 12 months.

Commenting on his appointment, Simon said: “FRP is a dynamic, entrepreneurial business with strong expansion plans and there is a real opportunity for growth in the North West. There are businesses of all shapes and sizes, across all sectors of the economy, that are looking for the support of a skilled and compassionate business adviser and having invested heavily in its broad range of advisory services the team at FRP is well-placed to provide this.

“With a commitment to client service, the firm’s values are very much in line with my own and I’m looking forward to working closely with the team as we continue to support businesses across the region.”

Ben Woolrych, Partner at our office in Manchester, added: “Simon’s wealth of experience, his knowledge of the local market and the strength of his relationships with the regional business community mean he is the perfect candidate to help us implement our growth plans. Our firm has gained real momentum in the North West over recent years, and we’re looking forward to Simon joining us on the next stage of our growth journey.”

In addition to his new role at the firm, Simon is also a non-executive director at The Jockey Club at Haydock Park and a Board adviser at BBS Law and Bridge Insurance Brokers Limited.
