Seeco (& Nene Capital)

Adviser to the founders of Seeco, a specialist precision engineering business, on the sale to Nene Capital

The deal

Seeco acquired by Nene Capital

Seeco, a specialist precision engineering business based in Bedfordshire, has been acquired by Nene Capital in a deal supported by our Corporate Finance team.

We’re pleased to have supported the founders of Seeco on the deal, which sees Nene Capital – an investor in UK SMEs – acquire Seeco and welcome the business into its growing portfolio.

Seeco was founded in 1986 and over the last three and a half decades has gone from strength-to-strength under the stewardship of its management team. The business, which has a long-held reputation for quality and client service, acts as a trusted partner to its customers and has a loyal and experienced workforce that give the company a considerable competitive advantage. Nene Capital intends to continue to support and grow the business from this robust foundation.

As part of the deal, which was led by Partners Harry Walker and Marco Piacquadio, the existing management team will remain in place and support Nene Capital to identify and appoint suitable successors in due course.

Stephen Bayliss, Managing Director of Nene Capital said: “We are delighted to add Seeco to our growing portfolio of high performing SMEs. This has marked the culmination of what has been an extremely busy start to 2022 and this recent acquisition sets out our aspiration for both pace and growth as we continue to build our high-growth, high-return strategies.

“Overall, we remain bullish about the UK upper SME market and our ability to continue to deliver value on a risk adjusted basis. We are actively pursuing other acquisition opportunities to continue to execute our growth aspirations.”

Simon Stringer, Finance Director of Nene Capital, added: “This is an exciting acquisition for Nene Capital. Seeco has built customer loyalty through a focus on quality and delivery, and this has in turn established an enviable financial performance and stability. Seeco represents exactly the sort of business we are profiling for this portfolio.”

Harry Walker, Partner at FRP Corporate Finance, said: “We were pleased to find the ideal home for Seeco; Nene Capital offers the business long-term and supportive ownership, while facilitating a managed transition to the next phase of the business’ growth story.”
