Exertis (UK) Ltd were looking to add weight to its presence in the growing components and accessories market, and therefore recognised the synergy with Hypertec.

“With Exertis’ resources and appetite for growth across a variety of technologies and geographies, this presents a great opportunity to increase our business with existing and new customers, and to build relationships with new vendor partners. It also provides the chance to support Hypertec’s existing reseller partners on a more pan-European basis with a one-stop solution. Darren advised management on the MBO of Hypertec in 1997 and has provided strategic input and advice since then. Having conducted a review of exit options for us, Darren identified and approached Exertis as a strong and strategic potential acquirer. Darren expertly led the commercial negotiations with Exertis and project managed the deal through due diligence and legals. All of the management and institutional shareholders appreciate Darren’s commitment to Hypertec over many years and the skilful navigation of the Exertis campaign to completion.” Lianne Denness, Managing Director of Hypertec.
