The deal

Our Corporate Finance team has successfully completed the disposal of Ryness Lighting & Electrical, on behalf of EPIC Private Equity LLP, to Marlowe Holdings Ltd (Holding Company of Edmundson Electrical).

Ryness was founded in 1961 and has grown to become London’s leading wholesaler and retailer of electrical accessories. The Company operates 18 stores within the M25 which include 12 retail stores and 6 trade counters. In addition, the business has a strong wholesale presence primarily supplying the hotel, hospitality and care sectors. Ryness is a true specialist in the lamp and lighting sector offering expert guidance in a rapidly changing market place driven by legislation and environmental considerations.

EPIC Private Equity first invested in Ryness in 2003 and continued its support in 2006 when the current Managing Director, James Shortridge, completed an MBO. EPIC approached the team to lead the disposal due to its specialist retail knowledge and partner led approach.
