Serco Learning

Adviser to Serco Learning, a training provider, on its sale to Advanced Computer Software.

The deal

Our Corporate Finance team has successfully completed the disposal of Serco Learning to Advanced Computer Software plc (ACS).

Serco Learning is a trading division of Serco Group plc and is the number two supplier of management information systems to the UK education market, providing training and support to over 2,000 academies, independent schools, higher and further education providers.

ACS, the listed leading UK provider of healthcare and business management software and services has acquired Serco Learning. This compliments ACS’s portfolio of IT solutions for the public sector, where it has 50 higher education customers and over 80 local government customers. This acquisition provides ACS with a strong foothold in the education software sector and enables cross-selling opportunities into their education and local government customer base. This will also generate significant opportunity within the growing ICT education market.

“We were impressed with the service and delivery from The team. They managed a competitive process which resulted in several offers being received and the transaction exchanging only 11 weeks after appointment and 5 weeks from the first meeting with ACS. Their willingness to resolve difficult due diligence issues with the target was crucial in getting the deal over the line.” Dean Eldrid, Director, M&A Serco Group plc.
