Wales Environmental
Adviser to leading drainage and liquid waste disposal operator, Wales Environmental, on its sale to Hartsmil, the parent company of BioMarsh Environmental.

The deal
Our Cardiff Corporate Finance team successfully advised Wales Environmental on its sale to Hartsmil, the parent company of BioMarsh Environmental.
Wales Environmental, backed by Development Bank of Wales and BGF, is a liquid waste and drainage waste disposal operator based in South Wales and the South West. The group provides these services across the public and private sector, from four strategically located depots across its core geography.
Biomarsh Environmental is a liquid waste and drainage waste disposal operator based in the South East of the UK. It was founded in 1972 and is run by the Travers family. The acquisition of Wales Environmental allowed the Biomarsh business to strategically expand its geographical delivery regions for its customer base.
Our Corporate Finance team led by Director Tom Coombes and supported by Executive Jade Burgess ran a competitive process, eliciting offers from multiple parties, and helped the Shareholders to navigate the due diligence process.
Tom Coombes, FRP Corporate Finance Director, said: “We are delighted to have acted for the Shareholders and to provide an exit for the institutional shareholders, BGF and DBW. There is an excellent strategic fit between the two companies which should ensure the future success of the combined business.”
Hannah Waters at BGF said: “It was great to work with the Cardiff team on another portfolio exit for BGF in Wales. Tom and Jade played a fundamental role in finding the right strategic buyer for Wales Environmental and supporting the transaction through to a successful completion.”
Legal advice to the Shareholders was provided by Christian Farrow, Elle McCook and Emma Lewis at Acuity Law.
