We are pleased to have supported a specialist adventure playground designer on its recent management buyout, backed by Barclays.

CAP.CO – Creating Adventurous Places is a bespoke adventure playground constructor that designs, builds and maintains play spaces across the world. Founded in 2014, the business works with organisations including schools, attractions, museums and historic properties to create spaces that are both safe and exciting for children to play. Recent projects include Adventure Play at Blenheim Palace and The Dozing Duck at Center Parcs Sherwood Forest.

It has now undergone a management buyout (MBO), led by Jim Wales, Bob Ottaway and John Lyle, providing a clear succession plan to secure the future of the business.

Our Corporate Finance team advised Creating Adventurous Places on this transaction. We designed a structure to facilitate the capital restructuring required for the buyout. We also supported on the share valuation along with all taxation matters, including obtaining clearance from HMRC, allowing the deal to reach a positive conclusion.

James Cooper, Partner at FRP Corporate Finance, said: “It’s great to have supported this management buyout of Creating Adventurous Places, enabling the succession of a well-established business with an experienced management team ready to take it forward.
