Thursday November 9, 2023

Tim Spooner joins as a Partner in our Corporate Finance team

We’re pleased to announce the appointment of Tim Spooner, who joins our Bristol office as a Corporate Finance Partner.

Tim Spooner brings with him more than 20 years of experience, working at KPMG in a senior leadership role in the firm’s Corporate Finance team since 2011. There, Tim provided tailored, strategic advice to local business owners and management teams on a wide range of transactions across sectors including healthcare, technology and infrastructure.

Tim’s recent deal experience includes successfully advising clients such as Amdaris, Mike Burton Group, Inside Travel Group, Power Electrics and JoJo Maman Bébé on various sale processes, capital raises and non-core disposals. In his new role at FRP, Tim will help expand our footprint in Bristol.

Commenting on his appointment, Tim said: “FRP Corporate Finance is highly regarded across the industry and has a track record of delivering excellent work for high-profile clients and transactions.

“As a Bristolian, I’m looking forward to getting out there, re-connecting with and meeting more of the ambitious and driven businesses that make the South West such an exciting place to be, as well as working alongside my new talented and experienced colleagues.”

Mark Naughton, who leads our FRP Corporate Finance team in the South West, added: “Tim’s appointment reiterates our ability to attract the very best talent in the Corporate Finance sector, as we work to expand our regional offering as part of our growing national team.

“He is well known in the Bristol dealmaking community and brings a wealth of experience to support our ongoing growth and help deliver the best possible outcomes for our clients.”

Tim’s appointment follows two partner promotions in our growing Bristol office so far this year – Jonathan Dunn in Restructuring Advisory, and Matt Whitchurch in Financial Advisory. It also comes as Emma Wade joins the Bristol team having recently re-located from her native France, following internships at Sorgem Évaluation and EY in Paris.

Andrew Sheridan, our location leader in Bristol, said: “The breadth and depth of experience we now have across the firm and in Bristol and the wider South West means we are well placed to deliver for our clients across each of our connected service pillars – Corporate Finance, Debt Advisory, Financial Advisory, Forensic Services and Restructuring Advisory – at a critical time for firms in the region.”
