Michelle Elliot and Stuart Robb join as Restructuring Advisory Partners
We are pleased to announce plans to grow our Scottish team following the appointment of a six-strong Restructuring Advisory team, which includes Partners Michelle Elliot and Stuart Robb, all of whom will be based in Glasgow.
With more than 20 years’ experience, Michelle is a qualified chartered accountant and insolvency practitioner. She has spent her career advising business owners, lenders, shareholders and other stakeholders on all aspects of corporate restructuring, including independent business reviews, contingency planning, options review and contentious insolvency.
Michelle’s experience covers the full range of stressed and distressed situations, from large corporates to owner-managed businesses, and she has supported firms across a wide range of sectors.
With more than 25 years’ experience, Stuart specialises in contentious insolvency and corporate restructuring. He has worked on formal insolvency appointments across a wide variety of sectors and has strong connections within the local intermediary community.
Together they join FRP with Director Ricky O’Kane, Senior Manager James Dempster, Manager Julie Millar, and Senior Relationship Manager Donald Shanks. The move will establish an on-the-ground presence for FRP in Glasgow.
Commenting on the move, Michelle said: “Joining FRP enables us to expand and strengthen our restructuring offer while also tapping into the firm’s national network and brand to provide clients with the full suite of advisory services, including debt advisory, forensic services and corporate finance. We work closely with a range of stakeholders across Scotland, including funders, accountants and lawyers and this move will not only enable us to better support them and their clients, it will also provide further opportunities for growth.”
Stuart added: “Working with our colleagues in the already well-established Edinburgh, Aberdeen and Inverness offices we have a real ambition to expand the team in Glasgow to help support businesses across Scotland as they navigate the financial difficulties and reset following the challenges over the past year. The size, scale and national footprint of FRP will provide an excellent platform for us to support our clients going forward.”
Jeremy French, COO of FRP, said: “We pride ourselves on investing in talent to ensure we continue to provide an unparalleled service to the clients that we support. The appointment of Michelle, Stuart and their team is a clear statement of intent of our commitment to the local market, it strengthens our presence in the central belt of Scotland and enables us to establish a strong presence in Glasgow.”
The firm now plans to launch a new office in Glasgow later this year.
