Working with Young Enterprise and Tees Valley Careers to support students across Teesside

We are supporting students across Teesside as they consider a career in business.

Our team, led by Partner Martyn Pullin and Associate Director Iain Townsend, is working with Young Enterprise and Tees Valley Careers on two mentoring initiatives that are designed to help young people develop their skills and confidence before they enter the world of work.

The programmes see local schools, businesses and volunteers work together to support the next generation of business leaders, and our team has supported students with CV preparation and job applications, in addition to leading sessions on the benefits of entrepreneurism.

This has also included practical workshops where students are put through their paces in mock business scenarios that are designed to teach students how to react and adapt when faced with a difficult situation.

Speaking about the initiative, Martyn said: “The school children that we’re visiting are the business leaders of tomorrow, so it’s important to us that we’re able to inspire them early on and help them on their way to a successful career.

“It’s been a really great experience working with the kids. There are lots who really surprise you and you can tell straight away that they’ll make a great business leader one day.

“I’m proud that we’ve been able to do this at FRP and we are committed to supporting both schemes for the foreseeable future.”
