FRP Breakfast Club: Fintech in focus

To mark the launch of our fintech report, we hosted a breakfast event this week to explore the key findings.

Panelists included FRP Restructuring Advisory Partner, Dan Conway, alongside Amy Gallimore, Restructuring & Insolvency Partner at Womble Bond Dickinson; Andrew Jackson, Managing Director of Swishfund; and Dan Walker, Senior Finance Professional.

The panel of industry experts led the conversation which examined the results of our survey of more than 250 senior decision-makers within the industry, as well as the opportunities and challenges faced by the sector.

Key insights explored by the panel included the importance of contingency planning; the challenge for regulators to balance innovation with consumer protection; and the 3M’s of monetisation, maturity and market sentiment.

The success female leaders in particular are seeing within the sector was also discussed by the panel – as despite women historically being underrepresented in senior roles in the sector, 55% of female decision makers said their firm had grown in value in the past year, compared to 38% of males we surveyed.
