FRP Corporate Finance wins at the 2021 Insider Thames Valley Dealmakers Awards

We are delighted to announce that FRP Corporate Finance has won three awards at the inaugural Insider Thames Valley Dealmakers Awards.

Compered by David Walliams, the awards celebrated the region’s major transactions in the Thames Valley region in 2021.

Our Corporate Finance team won Corporate Finance Advisory Team of the Year, beating two of the Big Four firms, along with Partner Simon Davies taking home the prestigious Corporate Finance Adviser of the Year award.

In addition to the team and individual categories, our team was also credited for its role in the sale of Babble to Graphite Capital, which was named Deal of the Year (£20m+).

Simon Davies, FRP Corporate Finance Partner, said: “‘It is a testament to the calibre of the businesses and professional services firms within the Thames Valley, that during a difficult year with the continued backdrop of COVID and lockdown restrictions, the region has seen an extraordinary level of deal activity, with some exceptional deal closures.

“A personal highlight was closing the £90 million secondary buyout of Babble to Graphite – this was a fantastic regional deal on behalf of LDC in Reading, working alongside Gateley and other local advisers – so it’s great to see that deal pick up Deal of the Year. It’s also a brilliant achievement to pick up the Team of the Year and Adviser of the Year awards. These are awards for the team – as it is rarely about one individual, it’s a team approach that allows those leading the deals to add the value.”

The news follows a record period of growth for the firm, which saw our Corporate Finance and Debt Advisory team treble in size following a number of strategic acquisitions and senior appointments. The team’s growth was earlier this year marked with the launch of its brand – FRP Corporate Finance – to bring together our teams and provide strategic support and advice for businesses.
