FRP appoints contentious insolvency expert as Partner
We’re pleased to announce the appointment of Mike Barker as a Partner in our Restructuring Advisory team, expanding our contentious insolvency offering.
With more than 20 years’ experience in corporate insolvency and business development, Mike brings a proven track record of working on large fraud cases and growing his portfolio of contentious work through direct engagement with large creditors and government institutions.
He joins from McTear Williams & Wood where he helped substantially grow the contentious insolvency department during his nine-year stint as an associate, overseeing claims ranging from £500,000 to £450 million.
Based in our Brentwood office, Mike will work closely with Partner Paul Allen and the wider team to strengthen our expertise in managing large-scale, complex insolvencies.
Jeremy French, Chief Operating Officer at FRP, said: “Company insolvencies remain at an historically high level, meaning there’s a growing demand for contentious restructuring professionals with the expertise to handle fraud cases and investigations of all sizes. We’re pleased to bring Mike on board, his extensive network and proven expertise in securing high-profile cases make him an invaluable addition to our practice, ensuring that we can continue to offer unparalleled support to clients.”
Mike Barker, Restructuring Advisory Partner at FRP, added: “As economic conditions improve, it’s important that businesses are able to access the support they need to restructure operations and return to growth. FRP’s broad client base and its reputation as an industry leader in corporate restructuring make it the perfect place to continue developing my expertise in contentious insolvency. I’m excited to get started and look forward to working with the talented team across the business.”
