A group of seafood companies based in Fleetwood has been sold out of administration, enabling the business to continue trading under new ownership and securing the jobs of all 78 employees.

Martyn Rickels and Anthony Collier of specialist business advisory firm FRP Advisory were appointed as Joint Administrators of A.M. Seafoods Limited, Kildavanan Seafoods Limited, and B&M Fishing LLP on 5 November 2025.

The Group is a well-established seafood processor, specialising in the sourcing and processing of shellfish including whelk, crab and scallops – generating annual revenues of approximately £17 million. The businesses had faced sustained cashflow pressures due to the impact of adverse weather on catch volumes and rising operating costs.

Following a sales process, a going-concern sale was achieved to companies within the CoombeFish Group together with their sister company Peninsula Seafoods Ltd, which completed immediately following FRP’s appointment as administrators and included the transfer of stock, plant, machinery, boats, and the ongoing trade of the businesses.

Martyn Rickels, partner at FRP, said: “This sale secures the future of a long-standing and respected Group in the UK seafood sector, while protecting jobs and maintaining continuity for customers and suppliers. The seafood processing industry has been particularly exposed to volatility in supply and increasing costs, but this transaction gives the businesses a platform for long-term stability under experienced new ownership.”

James Spear, Director of Coombefish Holdings Limited, said: “The AM Seafoods Group is a well respected operator with strong capabilities across the seafood supply chain. This acquisition aligns well with our long-term strategy and provides a solid platform to build on. We look forward to working with the team to drive the business forward and continue serving customers with the same high standards.”

FRP Advisory was advised by JMW Solicitors LLP. Coombefish Holdings Limited received legal and professional advice from Spencer West LLP, Kitson Boyce LLP, TJD Law Limited, Andrew Jackson Solicitors LLP, and Isca Ventures Limited.
