39 jobs saved as FRP help secure the sale of Opperman Plants to Littleworth Nurseries Limited
All jobs at Spalding-based ornamental plant nursery Opperman Plants have been safeguarded following the sale of the business and assets to Littleworth Nurseries Limited, securing continuity for customers and suppliers across the UK horticultural sector.
Nathan Jones and John Lowe of specialist business advisory firm FRP were appointed as Joint Administrators of Opperman Plants Limited (“the Company”) on 13th April 2026.
Following their appointment, the Joint Administrators continued to trade the business while progressing a sale process and engaging with a number of interested parties.
The sale secures the future of the long-established business, with all 39 employees transferring to the purchaser under TUPE regulations. A small number of employees had left the business during the administration process.
Established in 1997, Opperman Plants supplies ornamental plants to a range of retail and trade customers across the UK. The Company had experienced financial challenges in recent years, including the loss of key customers and rising operational costs, which ultimately led the directors to seek advice from FRP.
Nathan Jones, partner at FRP and Joint Administrator of Opperman Plants Limited, said: “We are pleased to have secured a sale of the business and assets to Littleworth Nurseries Limited, which will enable the business to continue trading and safeguard the remaining jobs.
“Opperman Plants is a well-regarded business with a long history in the horticultural sector, and this transaction provides continuity for customers, suppliers and employees. We would like to thank staff for their support and professionalism throughout the administration process.”
