Solar Capture Technologies has been sold out of administration to TMS Solar Solutions, safeguarding all 14 jobs and preserving its innovative solar technology.
A sale of the business and assets of Solar Capture Technologies Limited (“the Company”), a North East-based solar technology innovator, has safeguarded all 14 jobs and secured the future of its pioneering renewable energy technologies following the appointment of Shaun Hudson and Allan Kelly of specialist business advisory firm FRP as Joint Administrators.
The transaction completed on 26 May 2026 with TMS Solar Solutions Limited acquiring the business and assets as a going concern, preserving the Company’s intellectual property, manufacturing capability and specialist expertise while delivering a positive outcome for creditors.
Solar Capture Technologies is recognised for its strong technical heritage and contribution to the renewable energy sector. Its products have been deployed across a range of applications, with significant investment supporting the development of innovative solar solutions.
Despite its technical capabilities, the Company experienced funding challenges and was unable to secure the additional investment required to support its ongoing operations. The directors subsequently sought professional advice from FRP.
Importantly, the transaction enables continuity in the development and commercialisation of innovative solar technologies, including a patented building-integrated photovoltaic roof tile, supporting the UK’s transition toward sustainable energy solutions.
Shaun Hudson, Joint Administrator and Partner at FRP said: “Solar Capture Technologies has developed innovative products and built a strong reputation within the renewable energy sector.
“We are pleased to have secured a sale that safeguards all jobs, preserves valuable intellectual property and manufacturing capability, and provides a platform for the Company’s technologies to continue to be developed and manufactured locally.
“This outcome delivers the best available result for creditors while ensuring that important innovation and expertise remain active within a sector that plays a key role in the UK’s transition to sustainable energy. We wish TMS Solar Solutions Limited every success for the future.”
