Brentwood Communications acquires Radio Links

Essex radio communications business Brentwood Communications has strengthened its future growth prospects with the acquisition of leading two-way radio solutions provider Radio Links, in a deal supported by our Corporate Finance and Pensions Advisory teams.

The Brentwood firm – which counts the NHS, Premier League football clubs and a range of high-profile construction and security contractors among its client base – will expand its services, including strengthening its offering in relation to event-led communications.

Founded in 1974, Radio Links is a leading provider of radio communications solutions, public address systems and on-site engineering support at events. The acquisition of Radio Links, which has supplied radio communications to Buckingham Palace, Windsor Castle, St. James’s Palace and Kensington Palace for a number of years, will provide Brentwood Communications’ with a new strategic sales office in Cambridgeshire, in addition to its seven existing offices across the UK and Ireland.

Brentwood Communications’ management team was advised and led by FRP Corporate Finance Director, James Cooper and Pensions Advisory Director, Gemma Jones. The team was appointed to assist with approaching Radio Links’ shareholders, analysing its financials, formulating an offer, negotiating the Heads of Terms, providing financial due diligence services and ultimately leading the transaction to a successful conclusion.

The deal provides an exit for Radio Links’ founding shareholders and represents the second time specialist business we have supported Brentwood Communications’ expansion through acquisition.

James Miller, Managing Director at Brentwood Communications, said: “Radio Links has long held an enviable reputation as one of the UK’s most well-respected professional radio communications providers. Significantly, this acquisition provides us with additional scale both through its specialism in the events sector and its portfolio of high-profile clients which mirrors our own in prestige. We’re looking forward to working closely with the team and supporting them as part of Brentwood Communications.”

James Cooper, Director at FRP Corporate Finance, said: “We are extremely pleased to have supported Brentwood Communications in identifying and executing this growth opportunity which strengthens its position as a leading player in the UK radio communications market. The deal represents the start of an exciting new era for Radio Links and will bring significant operational benefits to Brentwood Communications as it builds out its national portfolio and positions itself for further growth in the future.”

Legal advice was provided to Brentwood Communications by Aquabridge Law, led by Keith Vincent, Harshita Samani and Simon Letts.
